Project Overview
This project is an interactive fan-made microsite inspired by Stranger Things, where I led the end-to-end product design and front-end execution. The focus was on translating cinematic storytelling into a web-based experience that feels exploratory rather than informational. Instead of building a traditional fan page, the goal was to design a product-like experience that introduces the world of the show through interaction, pacing, and atmosphere.
User Experience
Key interactions include:
•A mood-driven hero section that establishes tone through motion and visual tension.
•An interactive character section for a quick context.
•A gated Upside Down sequence that introduces Vecna.
•A curated timeline spanning pre-show history through the final season.
•An interactive map experience that allows users to explore key locations.
Design Approach
I approached this project as a product design exercise, defining the audience, core user intent, and narrative flow before executing the visual design.
Design decisions were guided by:
•Designing for two primary user groups: newcomers and existing fans
•Using interaction as a storytelling tool rather than a visual gimmick
•Prioritizing clarity, pacing, and emotional cues over feature volume
Some contextual content was gathered from public online sources and may not always be perfectly accurate. The intent was to create an experiential entry point, not a definitive guide.
Build & Outcome
•End-to-end ownership across product design, interaction design, and front-end dev
•Built using React with Vite
•Motion and transitions implemented with CSS and lightweight animation logic
•Desktop-first experience deployed via GitHub and Vercel
This project represents my interest in designing interactive products where experience, narrative, and interface are tightly connected, and where users are given both guidance and freedom to explore.
